2006 NSA Major Muncie, IN

Resmondo/Dan Smith/Menosse rolls through this NSA Tournament, and makes it four straight tournament wins. “The Sod and Plaster” boys played the first tournament on the bigger fields and proved that they will be very hard to beat in these conditions. “Big Jeff Wallace” continued his torrid hitting, as he won the MVP for the third straight tournament. Make no mistake this was a total team effort from this very powerful team. This is definitely one very talented team. They have an all-star at every position who can base hit it, hit for power and play great defense. They definitely have all the tools. AM Las Vegas/Benfield/Belcher/Shade Rest/Easton who finished second in this one, got it going this weekend after stumbling in the last two. This is also a very talented team who will be around the top in most of the tournaments they play in. The only problem with this team is they sometimes lose to teams that they shouldn’t lose to. They will have to play every game like they’re playing Resmondo to stop that issue. Third place went to Team Combat/Kleuver’s/Snap On, who has a lot of talent with picking up veteran Jeff Ott this weekend, who will give this bunch a big lift. John McCraw and RJ Howerton had a big weekend also. Fourth place went to Bell Corp/Backman/Taylor Bros/Easton, who just didn’t play all that well in this one. Make no mistake, this is one very good softball team who will play much better I guarantee. This tournament was played where it should be, on bigger fields and 80′ bases.

I want to congratulate Jim Kimmel and his NSA staff for running another great tournament. I also want to thank Jim for posting the scores and highlights from the weekend. I can tell you, that it’s people like Jim Kimmel that keeps “Big Time Softball” the greatest game in the world.
