2005 Columbus, IN Major NIT
Team Stucco/TPS put it all together this week, as they ran through this field of teams. “The Stucco boys” are a very good A team, and will be a threat to win the USSSA Worlds again. They base hit it, have enough power and play very good defense. Believe me they have some very talented players. Second place went to another good A team, Watanabe/Alpine/TPS. This bunch has also got some very good players. I look for this bunch to be very competitive all season long. Third place in this one goes to another one of those good A teams, Northwest Pipe/Easton. This team is always in the hunt in these type of tournaments. Fourth place went to Pace/TPS who plays a lot of USSSA tournaments, and who will also be a contender to finish near the top every weekend. I can tell you the TPS teams this year are playing a whole lot better, and that’s because of the very good TPS Catalyst bat. Louisville Slugger had fallen a little behind for a few years in the battle of the bats, but I can tell you it’s not true anymore, because their bat is as good as any out there today, believe me.
I’m not sure who ran this USSSA NIT, but was told they did a great job. I also want to thank Jim McCarron once again for doing another great job posting the scores and highlights.
